Exeter artists team up with RNLI for climate exhibition

The exhibition, titled 'Set Ashore', features work from three South West artists.
The exhibition, titled ‘Set Ashore’, is understood to explore the “urgent intersection between our coastlines and climate change”, and showcases work from three South West artists.
Each artist is said to work across a different medium, including pastels, oils and mixed-media acrylics, to each offer “profound, individual interpretations of coastal themes [and] environmental shifts”.
The showcase has been organised by Katarina Kos, whose work will feature on display alongside Sandra Goodenough and Clare Flinn.
The RNLI will be joining the artists for a public opening night on Tuesday, November 3 from 6pm.
Ms Kos says she drew inspiration for the exhibition from her time on the water as a sea kayaker. She describes her work as “directly confront[ing] the warming of our oceans and the urgent impacts of climate change”.
In contrast, it is understood that the art on show by Ms Goodenough and Ms Flinn will offer a more “harmonious” perspective based on the nostalgia of the British coastline.
The exhibition will be held at Positive Light Projects on Sidwell Street, Exeter, and will run from today, Saturday, October 31 to Sunday, November 8.
The gallery is free to enter and will be open for viewing daily from 10am to 4pm.
