Devon's Christmas markets are closer than you think, with the first one opening in three weeks - plan ahead to avoid missing out on festive fun

Christmas may still be two months away, but Devon’s Christmas markets are closer than you think. The first of this year’s festive markets opens in three weeks, on November 13, and more than a dozen markets and Christmas events are listed across the county between then and the middle of December.

From the cathedral city and the city centre to the English Riviera, the south Devon coast and the north Devon countryside, there are Christmas markets in Devon to suit every kind of festive day out. Some are open for several weeks, while others are one-day fayres, so it pays to plan ahead.

Whether you are looking for Christmas gifts from local makers, mulled wine and street food, Christmas lights and lantern parades, or late-night shopping, the 2026 calendar has plenty to choose from. With dates falling within days of each other, especially in late November and early December, now is the time to get the Christmas markets you want to visit into your diary.
