Exeter Business School in running for major Times Higher Education award

Exeter is in the running for a major higher education award after being named on the six-strong shortlist for Business School of the Year
The University of Exeter Business School has been shortlisted for a national higher education award.
It is one of six institutions in the running for Business School of the Year at the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Awards.
The shortlist also includes:
- Aston Business School at Aston University,
- ESCP Business School,
- The J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics at the University of Galway,
- Newcastle University Business School,
- The Royal Docks School of Business and Law at the University of East London.
The awards recognise achievements across the UK and Irish higher education sectors, with this year's awards focusing on the 2024-25 academic year, and are known as the “Oscars of Higher Education”.
Exeter's Business School has been recognised in the shortlist for its work around environmental sustainability, responsible leadership and technological change.
Among the initiatives highlighted by the university are its hosting of an AI for Net Zero conference, involvement in a UKRI-funded project looking at how emerging technologies could support a circular economy, and the launch of its Climate and Nature Impact Team.
Professor Steve Wood, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the University of Exeter Business School, said: “We’re so excited to be shortlisted for THE Business School of the Year, and I congratulate everyone who made it possible, from our students to academic and professional services staff.”
He added that the school's work on climate and nature issues remained important despite increasing pressure on environmental sustainability commitments.
The Times Higher Education Awards 2026 ceremony will take place in Birmingham on Thursday 26 November, when the winner of the Business School of the Year category will be announced.
