Exeter restaurant to hold fundraiser in aid of local leukaemia charity
The restaurant hopes to raise money for Exeter Leukaemia Fund, a charity which provides support to local patients and their families affected by blood cancer.
An Exeter fish-and-chips restaurant is holding a charity fun day in aid of Exeter Leukaemia Fund this weekend.
The event will take place at Krispies on Isleworth Road, Exeter, where families will be able to get involved in a range of activities.
There will also be special discounts on meals, with £1 from every sausage and chips meal sold going to Exeter Leukaemia Fund.
A spokesperson for Krispies said: “We’re really looking forward to the fun day and hope lots of people will come along and get involved. We wanted to put on something that families could enjoy during half term while raising money for a brilliant local charity.
“It’s a chance to have a bit of fun, enjoy some good food, and hopefully raise a lovely amount for Exeter Leukaemia Fund. We’re always grateful for the support we get from our local community, so it would be great to see everyone there.”
Exeter Leukaemia Fund provides practical, emotional, and financial support to local patients and their families affected by blood cancer.
Last year, the registered charity provided almost 500 counselling sessions, funded five hospital projects, and offered 39 patient support grants.
“Exeter Leukaemia Fund is delighted to be working with Krispies,” said a spokesperson for the charity.
“The charity is funded entirely by voluntary gifts from individuals, local businesses, community organisations, and charitable trusts.
“Funds raised by Krispies will directly impact local families whose lives have been turned upside down by blood cancer. We look forward to working more with Krispies in the coming months as we head into our 40th anniversary year.
“We encourage you to support if you can.”
The fundraising event will take place at Krispies Exeter, on Saturday, October 24 from 12-2pm.
