A rising star in Exeter’s tech scene has been named Young Business Person of the Year.

Bethany Taylor, 26, from City Science, won the award at the 2025 Exeter Living Awards in recognition of her work driving data-led innovation and sustainable development.

The award comes as City Science marks its tenth anniversary. The company, headquartered in Exeter, works with local authorities, businesses, and government bodies across the UK to deliver data-led solutions for transport, energy, and climate challenges.

Bethany said she was “incredibly honoured” to receive the award during such a milestone year for the firm.

“This recognition means a great deal to me, especially as City Science celebrates its 10th anniversary,” she said. “It’s a proud moment to be part of a team driving innovation in data and technology to support sustainability across the country.”

“Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue building partnerships and helping City Science expand its reach and influence across the UK and beyond.”

The Exeter Living Awards, held annually, celebrate excellence across the city’s business, charity, and cultural sectors, recognising individuals and organisations that contribute to Exeter’s economic and community success.
