Across India and around the world, Navratri is celebrated with traditional group dances such as Garba and Dandiya Raas, alongside prayer and community gatherings.
Organisers in Exeter say the event will bring together families from across the city and beyond to celebrate both faith and culture. The evening will feature traditional live music, dance, and opportunities for people of all ages to join in.
The Exeter event is part of a growing tradition of marking major Hindu festivals in the city, offering residents an opportunity to celebrate their heritage and share it with the wider community.
Navratri celebrations will continue across the UK through early October, culminating in Vijayadashami, or Dussehra, which marks the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura.
