To mark the beginning of National Graduate Week (October 28 to November 1), Stagecoach South West is spotlighting a young graduate in Exeter who is leading the way for women in the bus industry.
Izzy Bullough joined the Exeter team through Stagecoach’s Graduate Leadership Programme and now works as an Assistant Operations Manager (AOM).
Izzy is part of a team of four responsible for activity across the city, including making sure that buses run on time, working closely with local authorities, and assisting with driver recruitment.
The Stagecoach Graduate Leadership Programme is designed to develop the next generation of Stagecoach leaders, bringing fresh perspectives to an inclusive workforce.
Izzy has already gained hands-on experience across all departments, deepening her knowledge of the bus industry.

She has even obtained her Category D licence, allowing her to spend time driving in service and work shifts in engineering such as shunting, cleaning, and inspections.
Izzy said: “My experience so far has been both rewarding and fast-paced, allowing me to learn to drive a bus as well as organise 450 drivers across Exeter. In operations, you never sit still. Every day in Exeter is different, and it’s a privilege to work with a passionate team who truly care about delivering great outcomes for our customers.”
Izzy graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first-class degree in business management.
Izzy began her management career as a Graduate Acting Assistant Operations Manager at Stagecoach’s Middleton depot in Manchester before relocating to the Southwest.
She is apparently passionate about continuing her career with Stagecoach and aspires to lead her own team after completing the two-year-long scheme next September.
She added: “Moving from Manchester to Exeter was a big change. The rural nature of Devon makes operations more complex, but it’s been a great challenge, and I’m excited to settle into this beautiful region.”
Peter Knight, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, said: “We are delighted to have Izzy join us here in the South West. Her experience and dedication will undoubtedly strengthen our team. We encourage those considering a graduate scheme to explore the opportunities available with Stagecoach.”
