Caldwell says Northampton will pose problems
Gary Caldwell has shared his thoughts before City's first away trip of the League One season to Northampton.
The Grecians had an excellent start in the league following last week's 1-0 opening day victory against Rotherham United, but were then brought back down to earth with a penalty shootout defeat in the Carabao Cup to Walsall on Tuesday.
Northampton themselves will be looking for their first win of the season after defeats to Bristol Rovers and Wycombe this week, and City's manager is aware of their threat.
"We know how challenging it will be, I know how well set up as a team Northampton are. They're going to pose us a lot of problems and we have to be prepared for that.
"We have to be competitive again like we were on Saturday and get back to that performance if we want to win."
It was only a couple of months ago that City last travelled to Sixfields, winning 2-1 thanks to Will Aimson's late winner in a resilient performance after Ryan Woods' red card reduced the Grecians to 10 men. However, Gary believes that there will be some changes to the Cobblers team tactically to the side faced in April.
"They have been a little bit different, they've changed their system a couple of times. They've not played as much football - they've lost some good midfield players," Gary said.
"They've not played as much football and instead looked to play it long to forward players, pick up second balls and attack from there."
