Chiefs win... City disappointed

A bonus-point win secured Exeter Chiefs them first spot in the Premiership table.

Director of Rugby selected an experienced front row with Scott Sio starting at loosehead, Ehren Painter at tighthead and fan-favourite veteran Jack Yeandle captaining the side from hooker.

Chiefs were the first to score in what as a close and tense affair. The game ended Exeter Chiefs 29, Bristol Bears 20.

Meanwhile, it was Groundhog Day for Exeter City as once again they were beaten 2-0 by Wigan Athletic, despite plenty of chances in the FA Cup First Round.

City created some great chances throughout the game but were punished as they were unable to capitalise on effort after effort. Thelo Aasgaard poked in a rebound to put Wigan ahead before Steven Sessegnon sealed the tie in the closing five minutes with a curled effort. 

The Grecians are currently 17th in the table on 17 points.
