The South West’s premier food and drink summit is set to return to Exeter this summer, bringing together the region’s top producers, industry experts, and academics to tackle the challenges of a rapidly changing market.

Gather 2026 will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at The Forum, University of Exeter. Following a successful inaugural event last year, the summit aims to provide a platform for innovation and collaboration across the hospitality and agricultural sectors.

The event is spearheaded by Food Drink Devon in partnership with the University of Exeter, and is designed to help local businesses "future-proof" themselves against shifting consumer habits and economic pressures.

Key voices and industry insight

This year’s summit features a high-profile lineup of keynote speakers, including:

  • Tony Greenham: Chief Impact Officer at the Food, Farming & Countryside Commission.

  • James Williams: Global Director at the Rosewood Hotel Group.

  • Will Little: Co-founder of the Devon-based Little’s Coffee.

Tim Ball, a director at Food Drink Devon, said the day is a unique opportunity for the sector to unite.

"Gather is a unique day that brings together voices from across the sector to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of our industry," Mr Ball said.

"This year’s event will focus on key issues including scaling production, navigating routes to market, sustainability, branding and changing consumer trends."

Beyond the keynote speeches, delegates will have access to 16 different workshops and panel discussions. These sessions are expected to dive deep into topics such as regenerative practices, storytelling in branding, and technological innovation within the food chain.

Throughout the day, a producer showcase will also be held in The Forum, allowing local suppliers to display their products to potential retailers and hospitality operators.

The event has gained significant backing from the regional business community, with support from partners including Bishop Fleming, Stephens & Scown, and the Devon Food Partnership.

The summit will run from 9.15am to 4.30pm, with an optional networking session continuing until 6pm.
