E-Scooter rider seriously injured in Cranbrook collision as police appeal for witnesses

Emergency services were called to a serious e-scooter collision on a rural road near Cranbrook on Sunday evening, leaving a woman with life-changing injuries.

Police were alerted at around 6.50pm on Sunday 25 January to a single-vehicle collision on Parsons Lane, between Cranbrook and Rockbeare. The rider, a local woman in her 20s, was found injured on the road.

She was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment before later being transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where she remains in a serious condition.

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing Team carried out a forensic investigation at the scene.

Parsons Lane was closed for several hours while enquiries were carried out and reopened at around 9.30pm.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the area at the time.
