Icescape is set to return to Westpoint Arena this December, with organisers confirming that the large seasonal ice rink and winter attractions will once again run in the run-up to Christmas and into the New Year.

The 1,200-square-metre covered rink (one of the largest temporary rinks in the region) will open on Thursday 11 December, launching a programme that runs until 4 January 2026, excluding Christmas Day.

The attraction, located at Westpoint in Clyst St Mary, will also feature festive food and drink stalls, along with a new selection of rides and games for 2025.

Opening night will begin at 6pm and will include live music from members of the Exeter Jazz Orchestra, who will perform Christmas carols as visitors arrive.

A showcase from a group of professional skaters, including several Team GB development and performance squad members aged between 10 and 22, is scheduled for 6.30pm.

The line-up features junior competitors and national medallists such as Iris Morton Holmes, Amelia Gumenyuk, Leni Watson, Zinia Wood, Alicia Boyer, Arin Yorke, and pairs skaters Zarah Wood and Alex Lapsky.

The performances will be followed by two public skating sessions at 7pm and 8pm, with 2-for-1 tickets available on opening night.

Professional coach and former British Champion Chris Boyadji, who works with the skaters taking part, is expected to attend the launch.

He said he and his team look forward to returning to the event, having performed at several Icescape rinks in previous years.

Icescape’s operations director Jamie Dann said the company was pleased to return to Exeter after what he described as a successful debut at Westpoint last year.

He said the venue’s access and parking made it well suited for visitors travelling from across Devon.

Session times and prices vary throughout the season, with saver rates available for advance online bookings. A box office will also operate on site from the opening night.

The full programme and booking details are available on the Icescape Westpoint website.
