Exeter Airport has secured a major boost to its route network with the announcement that regional airline Loganair will begin flights to Manchester later this month.
The new service was first announced in March 2025, and now the airline has confirmed launch dates and schedule details.
The service starts on 26 October, offering frequent flights between Exeter and Manchester before moving to a daily service from March 2026.
The route expands Loganair’s footprint at Exeter, where it already operates seven services including Newcastle, Edinburgh and the Isle of Man.
Flights will link Exeter to Loganair’s wider codeshare network with British Airways, meaning passengers can book a single ticket from Exeter via Manchester to hundreds of destinations worldwide.

Seen as a “new gateway for Exeter”, Luke Lovegrove, Loganair’s chief commercial officer said: “It is a very exciting time for the airline as we launch our new route from Exeter Airport, connecting the South West to the North West.
“Regional connectivity is so important for our economy and for too long this part of the country has been failed by the lack of affordable and connected travel points. With our code sharing agreement, passengers can connect Exeter to anywhere in the world via Manchester – making international travel easy and convenient.”
From an airport perspective and speaking from the announcement in March, Stephen Wiltshire, managing director of Exeter Airport added: “We are delighted to welcome Loganair’s new daily service between Exeter and Manchester, which marks the return of this important route after a five-year absence.
“This new connection strengthens regional connectivity and offers passengers greater choice when travelling to the Northwest. It also complements Loganair’s existing year-round flights from Exeter to Newcastle and Edinburgh, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to serving the region.
We look forward to working with Loganair to ensure the success of this route and continuing to expand travel opportunities for our passengers.”
The new service is a welcome development for Exeter Airport, which has been rebuilding its route network following the disruption of the pandemic and the collapse of Flybe.
The addition of Manchester provides passengers with direct access to the UK’s second-busiest airport, offering both business and leisure travellers increased flexibility and global links.
Loganair has also strengthened its reputation in recent months.
The airline was named the UK’s most punctual carrier for arrivals and departures in Q2 2025, with 86 per cent of its flights on time, and earlier this year was ranked second in the Which? annual customer survey for short-haul airlines.
Passengers booking directly via Loganair’s website will also be able to collect Avios points through the airline’s partnership with the global rewards programme.
