Stagecoach has issued a warning to passengers in Devon after a scam post offering free tickets or Smartcards began circulating on Facebook.
The bus operator confirmed the offer is not genuine and is in no way connected to Stagecoach. Members of the public are urged not to click on any links or share personal information linked to the post.

A spokesperson said: “Stagecoach is aware of a scam post currently circulating on Facebook, falsely offering free tickets or Smartcards to customers.
“We can confirm that this is not a genuine offer and is in no way affiliated with Stagecoach. We advise members of the public not to click on any links associated with this post or share any personal information.
“Any legitimate offers, promotions or competitions will only be communicated via Stagecoach’s official website and verified social media channels.”
The matter has been reported to the relevant platforms, and Stagecoach says steps are being taken to have the content removed.
