Four of Exeter’s most loved local eateries have been shortlisted in this year’s Deliveroo Restaurant Awards – and fans are being urged to vote to help bring the title home.

Deliveroo has named Jinli, Hook Fish and Chips, Pious Sushi & Bubble Tea, and iFood Thai Taste among the contenders in its 2025 awards, which celebrate the best of British takeaways. Exeter’s nominations fall within the South England & Wales category, with voting now open until 9 May.

Among the nominated are:

  • Hook Fish and Chips – up for Best Fish & Chips. The contemporary chippy on South Street previously scooped the Food Awards England title in 2022.

  • Jinli – in the running for Best Chinese, known for its wide variety of freshly prepared dishes.

  • Pious Sushi & Bubble Tea – nominated for Best Japanese. The family-run favourite began at the University of Exeter and has built a loyal following for its hand-rolled sushi and poke bowls.

  • iFood Thai Taste – shortlisted for Best Thai, renowned for its wok-fried noodles and fresh rice dishes.

Adding celebrity spice to the judging panel this year is Tilly Ramsay, TV personality and daughter of Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay. As a guest judge, she’ll help decide the ultimate winner of the coveted Independent Restaurant of the Year Award, alongside Deliveroo CEO Will Shu and food critic Jimi Famurewa.

Votes from the public will determine the top five regional winners, who’ll then compete for the national title – with voters also entered into a draw to win £150 in Deliveroo credit.

Tilly Ramsay said, “I can’t wait to take my taste buds on a tour as I rate some of the most loved local eats from around the UK and Ireland… The shortlist of restaurants looks epic!”

Voting is open until 9 May at 11:59pm. The winners will be revealed on 28 May 2025 via Deliveroo’s social channels.
