Haldon Forest Park, just 25 minutes from Exeter, is already a top spot for outdoor fun. With fresh air, adventure, and plenty to discover, the new Stick Man adventure trail is set to be a must-visit for families looking to make magical memories in the woods.
Young explorers will journey through the woods, discovering interactive activity panels and hands-on experiences. From building with sticks to learning about forest wildlife, birds, and nests, there’s plenty to spark curiosity and creativity along the way.
Inspired by Julia Donaldson’s beloved book, the trail follows Stick Man’s quest to return to his family tree. As children make their way through the route, they’ll complete stick-based challenges, uncover tree-mendous facts, and get up close with nature.
Once Stick Man is safely home, don’t forget to complete the rubbing in your adventure passport and snap a picture with Stick Man in the family tree!
Make the most of your adventure by picking up a Stick Man trail pack for £4 from the Info Pod during opening times. Packed with exciting extras, it includes:
A Kraft bag to colour in
A Stick Man lanyard to wear
Adventure stamp stickers
Adventure passport cards to fill in and stick your stamps onto
A pencil and crayon
A pipe cleaner to craft your very own Stick Man
This fully surfaced trail is mostly flat with regular rest points, making it accessible for all. It spans 2.5 km (1.5 miles) and is designed for families with children aged 3-9 - after all, adventure is always better when you stick together!
