An independent fashion boutique in Exmouth has raised an impressive £1200 for Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club by hosting its very own local fashion show there.

Caramel Clothing, a fashion retailer located on The Strand in Exmouth, has been hosting biannual fashion shows, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going towards local or charitable causes.

Last month, a fashion show that Caramel Clothing held in store raised £980 for mental health charity Open Door.

More recently, 90 tickets were available to attend a glamorous evening of fizz and fashion at the cricket club on Thursday, October 3, with local models showcasing key autumn and winter clothing trends for 2024.

Cricket club event organiser Emma Cooling explained that they are raising funds for various areas of the club, including improvements to its disability access.

The sell-out event was made possible by owner and manager Sarah Simcock, along with her retail team, as well as local businesses and the boutique’s suppliers, who continually donate prizes to the charity raffle.

The £1200 was raised through a combination of ticket and raffle sales.

There is reportedly always much anticipation for the raffle draw, with tickets going on sale prior to the event for those who are unable to attend the evening but still want to offer their support.

Sarah said: "We were keen to support the club and the excellent work they do in the community—making cricket accessible to those with disabilities and making the facilities available to local schools.

“The evening was a huge success, raising much-needed funds for the club. It was great to show the wide range of clothes we sell at Caramel to a wider audience. Since the fashion show, we have been very busy in the Exmouth shop and on our website with customers keen to update their wardrobe with our autumn collection.

"Feedback has been great. Our customers love seeing the new season clothes and getting outfit inspiration—although the evening is not just about fashion, it’s also about coming together with friends, having fun, and helping to raise money for an amazing cause in a lovely relaxed environment."
