October 4, 2017 - Further opportunities became available to work at the new Ikea store in Exeter.
Work on the site started in May and was taking place around the clock between Newcourt Way and the A379 near the M5 to meet the scheduled opening date of early summer 2018.
The Swedish furniture giant invested a whopping £80m in the 29,000 square metre store. The skeleton of the building could be seen as early as August with the erection of its steel structure taking shape.
It eventually opened on May 1 2018.
Nick Earle, IKEA Exeter Store Manager, said: "We look forward to continue working closely with the local community to create a better everyday life for the people of Devon and wish to contribute by being a good neighbour as well as providing a great shopping experience.”
