Exeter has been named one of the best places for a dog friendly holiday.
The study, carried out by outdoor experts at Millets, picked the destinations with the most canine compatible hotels, restaurants, pubs and outdoor trails.
Carlisle took the crown as the most dog-friendly destination, scoring 8.85 out of 10.
But Exeter came a close runner up with a score of 8.39 out of 10.
The report authors said: “Though a small city, Exeter is a vibrant place with many historical attractions. The city’s scenic setting makes it a great destination to visit with your four-legged companion throughout the year.
“Exeter is also a top location with plenty of dog-friendly bars and pubs, including Double Locks, a traditional country pub with a huge beer garden and plenty of dog treats.”
