A show and tell event highlighted how partnerships with the University of Exeter can drive innovation and growth, particularly for local businesses integrating data science and AI into their operations

Delegates heard how expanding data science and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities can foster collaboration between academia and industry.

Presentations included analysis of the latest trends in data science and artificial intelligence.

The event was staged at Exeter Science Park by Exeter Innovation and also included speakers from private companies extensively utilising AI.

Anthony Peake from Exeter-based Intelligent AI explained how his risk assessment software was revolutionising the insurance underwriting industry by reducing the time taken to analyse documents from hours to minutes.

And he showed how a data capturing exercise using satellite imagery enabled his team to accurately analyse the extent of crop damage due to exceptional weather events for a client.
