AUGUST issue out now!

Welcome to the August issue of Exeter Living!

All eyes will be on Exeter this August as the city hosts the Women’s Rugby World Cup at Sandy Park. The tournament runs from 22 August to 27 September, with Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs, hosting seven matches, including two quarter-finals. It’s fantastic news for our city - and a big win for the community - as this year’s tournament promises to be the most accessible celebration of women’s rugby yet.

You can catch the action live at Sandy Park or on a big screen in Princesshay Square. (Note: Princesshay Square will also be screening some epic films this August – think Wicked, Top Gun, Hook, and Bridget Jones. Head to page 12 in our culture section for the full line-up.)

We also catch up with Exeter Chiefs’ Canadian prop DaLeaka Menin, who shares what it means to represent her country as the World Cup comes to Sandy Park.

Exeter is backing the Rugby Football Union’s drive to get 100,000 registered female players nationwide by 2027. Free rugby sessions for all ages and abilities are happening in Exeter now, bringing the sport to women who may never have considered it before. Turn to page 47 to find out more and get involved!

Elsewhere in this issue, we visit The Deaf Academy ahead of its 200th anniversary. And with sunny days still with us, we’re also visiting top beaches, food columnist Harry Hook has fired up the barbecue, and Iain Smith has a fresh pick of Sauvignon Blanc. Oh, and say hello to the new panel of judges for the Exeter Living Awards 2025 – enjoy!

You can read this issue online here, or pick up a copy at Hyde & Seek, Artigiano, John Lewis or Sacred Grounds.
