Torquay United celebrated Easter in style with six points from two Westcountry thumpings dished out to Weston-super-Mare and Bath City.

After the impressive 3-0 win at Weston on Good Friday, the Gulls overpowered struggling Bath with a Dylan Morgan hat-trick and a strike from Reece Evans.

It was Evans who started the fun in glorious April sunshine, powering through the Bath defence before his strike took a hefty deflection as it looped over stranded custodian Charlie Binns.

Plainmoor was rocking and the bumper crowd of 4,430 ready to party but there was a blip in the script, as the Romans picked up on a sloppy pass and Jordan Alves drilled an excellent strike from 20 yards beyond the reach of James Hamon, who was back between the sticks in place of the injured Seb Stacey.

United quickly regrouped with Sonny Blu Lo-Everton pulling the strings in midfield and Dan Hayfield had a decent effort deflected wide. The second goal duly arrived just past the half-hour, as Morgan swapped passes from a short corner and his swinging cross evaded everyone to nestle into the far corner.

The Romans now looked in trouble, Evans thwarted by a last-ditch block and Will Tizzard clipped in a cross that just needed a touch. The visitors did finish the half with a strike from Joe Raynes gathered by Hamon.

If there was any half-time tension, Morgan relieved the nerves within three minutes of the restart, driving into the Bath box from a Foulston pass and slotting another tidy finish into the bottom corner.

United boss Jimmy Ball introduced Deon Moore and debutant Charlie Osborne, on loan from Bournemouth, and he was soon congratulating the hat-trick hero, as Morgan curled a sumptuous strike into the top corner for his treble.

The Gulls were now at a saunter in the sun, passing the ball around with glowing confidence, as Bath looked like a side doomed for the drop. Callum Dolan exchanged passes with Hayfield before a lovely side-footer bounced clear off the far post.

It was then a procession to the finish line and three more massive points in the race for promotion.
