Unleashed Theatre Company’s production of The Cross and the Switchblade.
Torquay’s Unleashed Theatre Company is on the lookout for young male actors to join its next big community production, Chariots of Fire.
The award-winning theatre company, based at The Royal Lyceum Theatre on Abbey Road, produces three ambitious productions every year that welcome performers of all ages and experience levels.
This year’s summer show, Chariots of Fire, is adapted from the award winning eighties film featuring the iconic music of John Vangelis. This production was adapted especially for the UK 2012 Olympics.
Set during the 1924 Paris Olympics, the play tells the true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, athletes who overcome immense odds through the beauty and purity of running.
The company is looking specifically for nine young athletic male actors, including the two lead roles, who will spend much of the play running. Auditions are also open for a variety of male and female roles for performers of any age.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday 4 March at 7.00pm at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, and the production runs from Thursday 17 to Saturday 20 June. Anyone aged 16 and over is welcome to attend.
Expressions of interest can be emailed to creative@unleashedtheatrecompany.com, or prospective performers can simply turn up on the night.
