Exeter firm donates 100 Easter eggs to local families

Generous donation helps Foodbank families enjoy a traditional Easter treat

Dozens of families using Exeter Foodbank were treated to a surprise dose of chocolate cheer this Easter – thanks to the generosity of local business The Fresh Accountancy Company.

The city-based firm, which specialises in business tax, donated 100 Easter eggs of all shapes and sizes to the Foodbank ahead of the holiday weekend, making sure both children and adults didn’t miss out on a traditional sweet treat.

Accountant Ben Finch from Fresh said the donation was a chance to go beyond the basics, “While we’re aware that there’s always a need for essentials like pasta, squash, tinned fruit and cleaning products, we decided there was room for a little indulgence too,” he said. “Everyone should have the chance to enjoy a chocolate egg over Easter, and we hope lots of local families using Foodbank vouchers were able to enjoy them.”

The Exeter Foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust network, gave emergency food supplies to more than 10,000 people in 2023/24 – and continues to work closely with partner agencies such as Citizens Advice, Exeter City Council, children’s centres and health visitors.

Operations Manager Teresa Pollard said: “The truth is, foodbanks shouldn’t need to exist. But while they do, it’s vital that we provide more than just food – it’s about dignity, kindness and helping people access wider support.

“We’re so grateful for the generosity shown by the Exeter community – from individuals and schools to local businesses like Fresh. Donations like this make a real difference.”

The Fresh Accountancy Company said it intends to build on its corporate social responsibility (CSR) work this year, with further support planned for local charities and causes through a range of events.
