THE PUB QUIZ AT EXETER LIBRARY

An evening of quizzing at Exeter Library, with classic rounds like general knowledge, music and pictures plus plenty of book-based trivia too. With live music from local singer-songwriter Jess Rowe, some fantastic prizes up for grabs, and a pop-up bar serving alcohol and softs. 6.30pm start.
TOBY’S GARDEN FESTIVAL
2-3 May
Now in its eleventh year, Toby’s Garden Festival is a celebration of horticulture and the natural world. Set within the picturesque grounds of Powderham Castle, the event draws together garden enthusiasts and seekers of inspiration in a truly unique setting. Hosted by Toby Buckland, of BBC Two’s Gardeners’ World, the festival offers a rich programme of talks, workshops, entertainment, and cultural highlights.
This year’s speaker line-up includes Toby’s fellow BBC Gardeners’ World presenters Frances Tophill and Joe Swift, BBC Spotlight’s Victoria Graham, Telegraph wine writer Susy Atkins and award-winning food writer Mark Diacono, plus a host of inspirational speakers sharing their knowledge across three speaker venues.
BRIXHAM PIRATE FESTIVAL
3, 4, and 5 May
Thousands of people will be descending on Brixham for a long weekend of swashbuckling fun and seaside shenanigans set against the authentic backdrop of the historic port. Expect live music, markets, street entertainment, living history enactments, food - and plenty of pirates.
EXETER CITY FC END OF SEASON AWARDS EVENING
4 May
Exeter City fan? The annual awards night at St James Park celebrates all the best moments of the season. As well as the usual player award presentations with managers Gary Caldwell and Abbie Britton and the men’s and women’s teams, there will be a three-course meal, fun casino tables and live music. 6pm kick off in a large marquee at St James Park.
