A Paignton guesthouse is helping locals enjoy a night out again with the launch of FIVER Kitchen, a community-focused dining concept offering all main meals for just £5.
The initiative, created by chef and hospitality owner Tomo Kembery, is designed to provide good food at an accessible price without relying on charity or handouts. “People are really struggling right now, and I’ve seen first-hand how the smallest things can make a big difference,” Kembery said.
“I wanted to create something that genuinely helps - not charity, not handouts - just proper food at a price people can actually manage.
"FIVER Kitchen is about giving families, individuals and neighbours a place to sit down, eat well and feel looked after.”
FIVER Kitchen will run every Friday and Saturday night at The Three Palms in Paignton, with a rotating menu of comforting, home-style dishes. Optional starters and desserts are available at a small additional cost, and a licensed bar and children’s play area are also on offer.
“It’s about giving people an affordable night out again - simple as that,” Kembery added. The concept aims to bring back dining out as a normal part of life, providing a warm, inclusive environment for families and individuals alike.
"A meal out shouldn’t be an occasional luxury that people have to save for. It should be part of normal life. FIVER Kitchen is about bringing that back."
Bookings are now open and essential due to limited covers to maintain quality and atmosphere.
