Opening home game of the Sky Bet League Two season for Exeter City

Exeter City return to St James Park for their first home league fixture of the 2026/27 season on Saturday, with Accrington Stanley the visitors in a 3pm Sky Bet League Two clash.

After opening their campaign with a narrow defeat on the road, the Grecians will be looking to make home advantage count and get their first points of the season on the board.

Matt Taylor's side began their League Two campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Grimsby Town last weekend, despite a committed display away from home.

Now City have the chance to put that disappointment behind them in front of their own supporters, with the return to St James Park providing an early opportunity to kick-start their campaign.

Standing in their way will be an Accrington Stanley side who also remain searching for their first league victory.

Accrington opened their season with a 2-2 draw at home to Colchester United last Saturday and will arrive in Devon looking to go one better.

Saturday's fixture will be the first meeting between the two clubs since Exeter produced an emphatic 5-0 victory over Accrington in March 2023.

For City supporters, the game will also mark the long-awaited return to St James Park for a competitive home league fixture.
