The ultimate fantasy golf course in Devon faces a tricky par 3

Building the perfect round of golf using only Devon courses and no course more than once

It is cold, wet and windy, pretty much the worst time of year to be playing golf, but spring is not too far away and the lush fairways and greens of Devon are awaiting our return.

To get you in the mood, we are taking on the challenge of building the ultimate golf course, but there are strict rules to this game.

We can only use a golf course once and their chosen hole number must correspond to the actual hole on that course. For example, the ultimate opening hole in Devon must also be the opening hole on that chosen course, and then the same course cannot be used again throughout the round.

Your challenge this summer is to play them all!

The ultimate 11th hole in Devon golf

#11 – Libbaton Golf Club – Par 3

This is a short par-3 hole (around 135 yds from the middle tees and151 yds from the back) making it one of the shorter holes on the course.

The green is two-tiered with noticeable slopes, meaning the surface can be tricky — club selection and knowing the pin location are key to holding the putting surface.

Although short, the uphill nature of the hole can make it play longer than the yardage suggests, especially if the wind is up or from the wrong direction.

Bunkers guard short and to the right of the green, so missing the green in those areas can lead to difficult up-and-downs.

With a stroke index of 18, it’s typically considered one of the easier holes in terms of difficulty rating on the course scorecard, but accuracy is still rewarded.

Overall, Hole 11 at Libbaton is a classic short par-3 that demands precision despite its modest length — a good par here is always a solid score.
