Olivia from Stover School
A promising young dressage rider from Devon has been recognised at a national level after earning a coveted place in the British Dressage National Academy.
British Dressage has confirmed that Olivia Luscombe, 15, from near Exeter, is one of just 12 riders selected for the prestigious programme, which is funded by Sport England and designed to nurture the sport’s future stars.
The National Academy offers nine months of intensive training and development, combining expert coaching from British Dressage with support from leading professionals across the equestrian industry. The programme focuses on the holistic development of athletes, supporting both performance in the saddle and personal growth away from competition.
Olivia secured her first National Academy term after emerging from a competitive field of 40 young riders from across Britain, all of whom attended British Dressage Foundation Academy training camps between October and December 2025. Her selection reflects consistent progress in competition, effective application of training plans and a strong commitment to off-horse development, including strength and conditioning, goal setting and performance planning.
Her most notable achievement to date came at the 2025 Regional Championships at Bicton Arena, where she claimed the Advanced Medium title. That victory earned her a place at the British Dressage National Championships, providing valuable experience alongside her horse, Eternal Kiss.
Looking ahead, Olivia is keen to expand her training, work with new coaches and continue her development, with ambitions to compete internationally at Junior level in the future.
