With the UK Jumps season set to return to the calendar in September, the Racing Post has analysed how much it will cost for a casual punter to spend a day at their local track with 45 on offer up and down the country over the Autumn and Winter to choose from.

Using the price of a general admission ticket for a non-Premier Raceday, the cheapest pint on offer, the price of a burger and a bottle of water costs plus the track’s TripAdvisor or Google Review rating, you will now know how much it will set you back per person should you be heading to a track this Autumn and all through Winter.

Newton Abbot is one of the perhaps lesser known in the UK and is mainly known for its Summer jumps meetings - but how did it get on in the index?

Outside of those two big days though, how much could it set you back for a day at the Devon track?

Ticket price: £10 Cheapest pint: £5.20 Price of a burger: £5 Price of a bottle of water: £1.50 Trip Advisor rating: 3.9 stars

Overall, Newton Abbot performed very well and ranked a fantastic fourth overall.

The price of a pint is very affordable at £5.20, well below the average of £6.30 countrywide, while a burger costing only a fiver means you can get some sustenance for a little more than £10.

The ticket price for general admission is one of the cheapest in the country at £10, while the track also scored well on the TripAdvisor rankings with 3.9 stars.

A spokesperson for Racing Post said: “Newton Abbot could be a bit of a hidden gem if there are some tracks you perhaps have yet to visit.

“A tenner to get into the track is a bargain, while the relatively cheap pints on offer as well as food mean a good day out can be had without breaking the bank.”
