Exeter Chiefs stars Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Henry Slade have both been named in the starting XV for England’s fixture against France at Twickenham this Saturday.

The match, which kicks off at 3.15pm at Allianz Stadium, sees head coach Steve Borthwick name a blend of youth and experience as preparations continue for England’s summer tour of Argentina and the United States.

It marks a significant return for 21-year-old winger Feyi-Waboso, who has been sidelined since suffering a shoulder injury in December. The highly rated back has impressed on the international stage this year and will be looking to make his mark again after a lengthy lay-off.

Midfield stalwart Slade, who has 72 caps to his name, lines up at outside centre and is one of the senior figures in a relatively fresh-faced squad. His inclusion adds leadership and continuity to a side co-captained by George Ford and Jamie George.

The full starting line-up features players from across the Premiership, with Sale’s Joe Carpenter, Gloucester’s Seb Atkinson, and Bath’s Guy Pepper among those looking to make an impression ahead of Monday’s tour squad announcement.

Feyi-Waboso’s return will be of particular interest to Chiefs supporters, who will be hoping he comes through the game unscathed ahead of the new Gallagher Premiership season.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Borthwick said, “We’re excited to be playing at Allianz Stadium and to test ourselves against a strong French side.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this young team get out there and show what they’re capable of.”
