Exeter Chiefs winger Paul Brown-Bampoe has signed a new contract with the club following a standout debut season.
The 23-year-old scored 21 tries in all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign and finished the season as the club’s top try scorer.
Brown-Bampoe, who was scouted while playing for Durham University, made his Premiership debut against Leicester Tigers in September after being called off the bench early in the match.
“I am delighted to be re-signing at Chiefs,” he said. “It’s an environment that has allowed me to grow both my understanding and passion for the game.”
Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter said: “It’s fantastic news that Paul has decided to extend his contract with us. He was clearly one of our key performers this season.”
Baxter added that Brown-Bampoe has “huge potential” and could soon be pushing for international honours.
Brown-Bampoe has previously represented England Counties U18, England Students, and England 7s.
In a separate announcement, Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Black Ferns prop Amy Rule for the women’s squad.
The 24-year-old will join the club after the conclusion of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, where she is expected to feature for New Zealand.
Rule has earned 29 international caps and was part of the Black Ferns squad that won the 2021 World Cup.
She said: “Rugby has given me so many opportunities and has made me the person I am today. Getting the chance to join Exeter is part of that journey.”
Chiefs interim head coach Steve Salvin said: “Amy is the first Black Fern to be signed by a PWR club. She is a Rugby World Cup winner and a world-class tighthead. We are delighted she has chosen Exeter Chiefs.”
The Black Ferns will play Japan at Sandy Park on Sunday, 31 August, as part of the Rugby World Cup pool stage. France will face Brazil in the second match of the double-header.
