Exeter City will travel to FC United of Manchester for a pre-season friendly on Saturday 19 July, as the Northern Premier League side marks 20 years of supporter ownership.

The match will take place at FC United’s Broadhurst Park stadium in Moston, with a 3pm kick-off.

Formed in 2005 by Manchester United supporters opposed to Malcolm Glazer’s takeover, FC United is now the largest wholly supporter-owned football club in the country, with over 2,300 members.

Each member pays £25 a year, receives one voting share, and helps democratically run the club, whose 11-member board is elected by fans. They finished 17th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division in the 2024/25 season.

Exeter City Supporters’ Trust Chair Nick Hawker said,“I’m really delighted to finally get this fixture sorted as we have been trying for a couple of years. But to do it in FC United's 20th year feels appropriate, given we celebrated our own milestone last season. We’re two really special clubs who share similar values.”

The match adds to Exeter’s summer schedule, which already includes a trip to Weston-super-Mare on Saturday 12 July, a fixture the Grecians have taken part in for four consecutive years.

They will also face Torquay United on Friday 25 July and host Swansea City for Pierce Sweeney’s testimonial at St James Park on Saturday 26 July.
