Exeter Chiefs winger Olly Woodburn has signed a new contract to remain at Sandy Park, extending his time at the club into an 11th season.

The 33-year-old, currently recovering from an ACL injury that ended his 2024/25 campaign, is one of the most experienced players in the current squad with 184 appearances and more than 300 points to his name.

“I’m hugely excited to be staying, marking 10 years as an Exeter Chief,” said Woodburn.

“I’ve spent the majority of my adult life here in Exeter, so this place has huge meaning to me.

I can’t wait to get stuck in and hopefully be part of a change as we work towards becoming Champions again.”

Originally with West Country rivals Bath Rugby, Woodburn joined the Chiefs ahead of the 2015/16 season. He played a key role in helping Exeter reach their first Premiership final in his debut year, before lifting the title in 2016/17 as a starter in the final against Wasps. He was also part of the squad that secured the 2020 Champions Cup.

Director of Rugby Rob Baxter described the contract renewal as a vital part of maintaining experience within a squad that has undergone significant transition.

“We’re really pleased to have extended Olly’s contract,” said Baxter.

“He understands what it takes to win and what it means to play at the highest level.

I’m very keen on us not continually losing experience year on year. What we’re trying to do now is bring in quality but also retain the players who strengthen us on and off the field.”

Baxter highlighted Woodburn’s versatility and impact, praising his early-season form before injury and his strength in high-ball contests.
