Young fans take charge at Exeter City

Exeter City is once again opening its doors for young supporters to step into key matchday roles as part of the exciting Kids in Charge Day. The popular event returns on Friday, April 18, when the Grecians take on Burton Albion at St James Park.

The initiative, which has been a hit since its debut in 2015, gives children aged 6 to 12 a unique opportunity to shadow club staff, from being the matchday stadium announcer to reporting on the game.

Some lucky youngsters will also get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Cliff Hill Training Ground, where they can interview key staff or even help with a kit wash during the Easter Holidays.

The event will feature 28 exciting roles, offering young supporters a real taste of what it takes to run a football club. Among the positions available are:

  • Club and Trust Chair

  • Social Media Assistant

  • Fan Zone Announcer

  • Match Reporter for Devon Live

  • Stadium Tour Guide

  • Training Ground Reporter

  • Steward for the Day

  • Kit Person – Dressing Room & Wash Duties

  • Scoreboard Operator

  • Player of the Match Interviewer

The club is thrilled with the ever-increasing number of young fans at St James Park. This year, the Junior Grecians membership could exceed 1,000, a record-breaking milestone. The Match Day Experience packages for mascots and school/club visits also remain hugely popular.

Exeter City has long been committed to fostering a family-friendly atmosphere. The Family Zone is a must-visit for parents and children on matchdays, ensuring a welcoming and fun experience for all.

Parents can submit applications online by 6pm on Monday, March 31.

Spots are limited, and demand is expected to be high, so early applications are advised.
