Exeter Chiefs hooker Dan Frost has agreed to a move to Bath Rugby for the 2025/26 season, marking the next step in his professional career.
Frost, who began his journey with Bath in their Academy set-up, will rejoin the Gallagher Premiership club after three successful seasons with Exeter. During his time at Sandy Park, the front rower has made 48 appearances and scored 17 tries in all competitions.
The 25-year-old expressed his gratitude to Exeter Chiefs, particularly after the challenging circumstances following Wasps’ financial collapse, which led to his move to the Chiefs.
“I’d like to thank everyone at Exeter Chiefs for welcoming me in with open arms off the back of what happened to Wasps,” Frost said. “I feel extremely lucky to have represented such a special club. I will be taking away some incredible memories and friendships that will last a lifetime and I am grateful to have worked with some top coaches and some bloody good blokes.”
Frost, born in Taunton, has long been a familiar name in the South-West rugby scene. Before his move to Wasps, he gained valuable experience at Championship side Cornish Pirates, setting the stage for his breakout opportunity in the Premiership. When Wasps folded in October 2022, Exeter Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter recognised Frost's emerging talent and moved to bring him to Sandy Park.
His standout performances as a Chiefs player have caught the attention of his former Wasps coach, Lee Blackett, and Bath’s coaching staff. Despite leaving Exeter, Baxter is happy to have provided Frost with the platform to continue his Premiership career.
“We’re pleased we could give Dan an opportunity to carry on in Premiership Rugby when things went wrong at Wasps, and he’s made the most of that,” Baxter commented. “He’s been a good, important player within the squad over the last couple of seasons for us here at Exeter Chiefs. We wish him well in the future.”
Frost, who also represented England at U18 level, is known for his energetic playing style and has become a fan favourite at Exeter. He will remain with the Chiefs until the end of the current season, after which he will make the move to the Recreation Ground to begin his new chapter with Bath.
