Exeter City has announced the return of Ryan Trevitt and Alex Hartridge on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, subject to EFL approval.

Ryan Trevitt, who made a memorable impact during his initial loan spell at St James Park in the first half of the 2023-24 season, returns after an injury cut his time short.

The 21-year-old impressed fans with his two stunning goals in the Carabao Cup fourth round against Middlesbrough, and he registered five goals in 23 appearances for the Grecians.

Since his return to Brentford, Trevitt made his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur and has featured in two senior cup matches.

Manager Gary Caldwell expressed his delight: “We are really happy. He is someone our fans just loved to watch. It was a shame his time got cut short with us and every transfer window since I have been speaking to Brentford to see if he is available. We are thankful again to them for loaning him out. We know the talent he has and how much they value him, and we are absolutely delighted to have someone of his quality with us.”

Trevitt, eager to make an impact, shared: “It feels so great and I'm buzzing to be back. I can't wait to play again, pull on that shirt and see all the fans. It was so disappointing getting injured the first time round and I feel like I'm coming back with a point to prove, and to finish what I've started here."

Also returning to Exeter City is defender Alex Hartridge, who rejoins from Wycombe Wanderers. The 25-year-old, who made 154 appearances for the Grecians and came through the club's academy, left at the end of last season but is back to bolster the defensive line. Hartridge is available immediately and joins the squad for Saturday's trip to Stevenage.

Caldwell commented on Hartridge’s return: “We are obviously looking for a centre-half that we need. Alex knows the club, and we know Alex, and in this situation it feels like a brilliant signing to bring him back to the club. It won't take any time for him to fit in or get to know people, and that understanding will be there straight away.”

Hartridge, happy to be back, said: “A few days ago I didn't even know this was going to be a thing, but for me and the club it felt right as what we both wanted aligned. I fit the role the club are looking for, and it has been so good being back for just an hour or so and having so many people saying hello, putting a smile on my face.”

Both Trevitt and Hartridge are set to make an exciting impact as Exeter City looks to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the season.
