Exeter City Women’s manager, Abbie Britton, has been named the FA National League Southern Premier's Manager of the Month for the second time this season, following a remarkable December run that saw her team rise to second place in the league and advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Britton’s side won all three of their fixtures last month, including an emphatic 4-1 victory against Billericay Town, with goals from Zoe Watkins, Sarah Stacey, Georgie Barbour-Gresham, and Phoebe Baker propelling the Grecians up the table. The win against Billericay was a standout, showcasing City Women’s attacking prowess and solidifying their position in the league.

City’s FA Cup journey also took a dramatic turn, as they triumphed in a thrilling extra-time clash with Worthing, securing their spot in the fourth round. The month concluded with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lewes, marking a perfect December for Britton and her squad.

On receiving the award, Britton expressed her gratitude, saying, "I'm delighted, it just goes to show the hard work that all the staff continually put in, the time they give up. Awards are great, but they’re nothing without your staff and your team. It obviously highlights what we're doing on the pitch is working, so long may that continue."

Britton’s achievement marks a historic moment, as she becomes the first manager to win the Manager of the Month award twice this season. The future looks bright for Exeter City Women as they continue to impress under Britton's leadership. Up the City!
