Grecians slip to loss at Stockport

We’ve all had them, one of those days when nothing goes in your favour, and that was the case for Exeter City’s Tristan Crama at promotion-chasing Stockport County.

French defender Crama has been outstanding since joining the Grecians on loan from Brentford but it was his unfortunate own goal that gave the home side an advantage midway through the second period.

City had been resolute defensively prior to the breakthrough and were starting to show some attacking promise before falling behind but their goose was cooked when Crama doubled his personal pain by conceding a penalty in the final minute, calmly converted by Louie Barry for a 2-0 Stockport win.

City manager Gary Caldwell told the club website: "We threw that game away in the second half. I thought in the first half against the wind we were extremely brave and controlled the ball, and we restricted them to very little."

"When we get through, we don't do enough. We don't create enough chances, have enough shots, enough final actions in front of goal.

"In the second half we didn't have the same quality in our pass, build as well as we could have and we threw away a game we were very much in at half time.

"The conditions were tough but it is what it is. The pitch was good and we could pass how we wanted, but we didn't do enough when we got through their press."
