Caldwell relishing Wigan trip

Exeter City will be back in action when they take on Wigan Athletic at the Brick Community Stadium tomorrow (Saturday September 27).

With two wins already this week in the league and EFL Trophy, the Grecians are brimming with confidence ahead of manager Gary Caldwell’s return to his former club.

“It’s been a really good week so far for us, but we still have work to do to finish it off at Wigan,”
Gary said.

“We have had a chance to watch back Wigan’s game on Tuesday and myself, the analysts and coaches have done our preparation, and we are clear on what we need to do to go and win the game.

“They have changed from last season. They were very possession based last season but not so much now, they have made a few changes and are a flexible team tactically. I know the manager very well obviously and he is very smart – he will analyse us the same way we analyse them, and he will set up his team accordingly.

“We have to adapt to the opponent but also be clear what our strengths are and use them on the day, and impose ourselves on the game.”
