Caldwell looks ahead to Saturday's game amid recent defeats

Gary Caldwell has shared his thoughts ahead of Exeter City’s away game against Bolton Wanderers this Saturday.

The last time the Grecians played the Wanderers in 2023, they lost 7-0, but this is a new season with a vastly different squad.

Gary said: “I think it’s pretty clear where we need to improve. We’ve not been good on defensive transition or defensively. It's the small details within games that we have to be much better and much tighter at.

“I looked at it with the players to show them statistically our possession, where our possession is leading to, the amount of crosses and attacking actions that we’re getting—we are doing very well in those aspects, and now we have to turn them into victories as ultimately that’s the most important stat, and at this moment in time it's going against us.

“We have to keep believing in what we’re doing and brush up in those areas to make the scoreline more in our favour.”

For the first time since August 2023, City will be wearing the traditional red and white kit away from home.

Final tickets for the match are available to buy until 3pm, Friday, August 30.

There will be no on-day sales for this fixture.
