Captain Pierce Sweeney shared his thoughts after Exeter City surrendered their lead at Sixfields, ultimately losing 2-1 to Northampton Town.
Despite Tristan Crama's early header, two second-half goals from the hosts meant the Grecians couldn’t build on last weekend's win, despite their multiple chances.
Sweeney said: "We did pretty well in the first half but we let them back into the game with disappointing goals.
"There are opportunities where we should have done a lot better. We know we're good enough to keep a clean sheet here.
"I feel like we should have threatened them more and been at least two up at the break, but then they get their chance. We have to look at it, learn from it, and move on to Peterborough next week.
"We have to learn to never expect it to be easy, and we have to manage the game better and regroup."
