Exeter City lost for the first time this season after Northampton Town staged a late comeback to win 2-1 at Sixfields.
Exeter started strong, taking the lead in the 10th minute when Tristan Crama headed in his first goal for the club from a corner.
Despite dominating much of the game and creating multiple chances, Exeter couldn’t extend their lead.
Northampton grew into the match in the final 25 minutes.
Callum Morton equalised in the 72nd minute, capitalising on a ball over the top and slipping it past Exeter's keeper Joe Whitworth.
Cameron McGeehan secured the win for Northampton, completing the turnaround with a late goal.
Exeter made only one change to their starting lineup from their opening day victory over Rotherham, with Millenic Alli replacing the injured Vincent Harper.
Alli was involved early, helping set up Crama's goal, but despite their control, City couldn't find a second.
Northampton's resilience paid off, as they frustrated Exeter's attempts to score again and ultimately turned the game in their favour.
The defeat marks a disappointing result for Exeter in their first away match of the League One season, leaving them to regroup ahead of their next fixture, returning to SJP next Saturday for their 3pm match against Peterborough United.
