Exeter Chiefs captain Dafydd Jenkins will captain Wales in the final round of the Guinness Six Nations this weekend.

Senior men’s head coach Warren Gatland has named the Wales XV to face Italy at Principality Stadium in the fifth and final round of the 2024 Guinness Six Nations on Saturday 16 March (KO 2.15pm live on BBC and S4C).

George North and Nick Tompkins return to the starting line up in the centres.

Captain Dafydd Jenkins is named in the second row alongside Adam Beard. Alex Mann comes back into the Wales XV at blind-side flanker.

Tight-head prop Dillon Lewis makes his first start of the 2024 Championship.

Among the replacements tight-head prop Harri O’Connor is in line to win his first senior international cap. Kemsley Mathias and Kieran Hardy are also named in the match day 23 as front row and scrum half cover respectively.

Gatland said: “This is an important game for us. We definitely don’t want to finish bottom and the squad is hungry to win."
