Three is the magic number for Caldwell

Three is the magic number for Caldwell

Jack Aitchison found the back of the net

Gary Caldwell was delighted with the three valuable points his Exeter City side secured on the road with a 3-0 win at Shrewsbury.

Three first half goals from Will Aimson, Luke Harris and Jack Aitchison - which followed an early red card for the hosts - secured a first win in six matches and putting the Grecians ten points clear of the drop zone.

"Obviously the sending off changes the game but it actually made it harder for us, but I'm absolutely delighted," Gary said post match.

"I felt it could have been a long night and it took us ten to 15 minutes to work our how quickly we needed to play. When we created our opportunities, we were ruthless.

"There we a lot of good things in the first half. I felt in the second half we could have been better in our final third play and taken more risks.

"The size of the game, where we both are in the league, I can't be happier with what the players did."
