Nominations open to recognise women making a difference across Devon

From grassroots community organisers to entrepreneurs rebuilding their lives, the women shaping the South West often go unrecognised beyond the circles they serve.

The West Country Women Awards was set up specifically to change that, and with nominations closing on 3 July, organisers are urging people across the region not to miss the chance to put someone forward.

The awards focus on women and girls across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, with a stated mission of turning visibility into tangible social impact.

Unlike many regional business awards, the West Country Women Awards is positioned as a community-driven initiative rather than a corporate one, its emphasis is on connection, empowerment and elevating women at all stages of life, not just those at the top of their professions.

Who can be nominated?

There are no strict criteria around profession or background. Organisers say they are looking for women who make a positive impact in their communities, whether that is someone starting a new chapter, supporting others through difficult times, or quietly doing work that rarely makes headlines.

Nominations are submitted online, and the process is open to anyone.

Applications, the next stage after nomination, close on 10 July.
