Customers at Exeter’s Pho restaurant will be in with a chance of winning a trip to Vietnam as part of a nationwide Lunar New Year promotion.
The Vietnamese street food chain is marking Vietnamese New Year, known as Tết, on Tuesday, 17 February by giving every customer a traditional red envelope containing a prize.
Pho, which has more than 50 restaurants across the UK including a branch in Exeter, said one envelope nationwide will contain the top prize of two return flights to Vietnam from London and a five-night hotel stay.
Other envelopes will include smaller prizes such as free bowls of pho, desserts, Vietnamese beers or a VIP card offering 50 per cent off food for a year.
The giveaway applies to customers dining in, ordering via Deliveroo or using click and collect services on the day. There is no minimum spend.

Tết is the most significant celebration in the Vietnamese calendar and traditionally marks the start of the lunar new year. Red envelopes are commonly exchanged during the festival as a symbol of good fortune.
A spokesperson for Pho said that this “is the most important celebration in the Vietnamese calendar - a time of renewal, generosity and good fortune.”
“We wanted to mark the occasion by sharing that tradition with our customers across the UK.”
Pho was founded by British couple Stephen and Juliette Wall after travelling in Vietnam.
The chain specialises in pho, a Vietnamese rice noodle soup, as well as other dishes including curries, salads and noodle dishes.
Full terms and conditions of the promotion are available on the company’s website.
