Exeter’s Revolution bar has closed with immediate effect, following the wider closure of 21 venues across the UK by the chain’s owner, The Revel Collective.
The closure was confirmed on the bar’s Facebook page on Tuesday, 27 January 2026. The post read: “We have loved shaking your cocktails and creating unmissable parties and events over the years, but as of today… we will sadly be closing our doors in Exeter. We want to extend an enormous thank you for joining the Revolution party and making some unforgettable memories. Any guests with bookings will be contacted in due course – Thank you for your patience and understanding. Goodbye and Thank You xx.”
The Exeter venue, located at 79-82 Queen Street in a three-storey Grade II-listed building, opened in late June 2022. It replaced Las Iguanas and quickly became a hub for students and locals seeking cocktails, late-night events, and themed parties.
The Revel Collective, which also owns Revolución de Cuba and Peach Pubs, entered administration after a “continued period of external challenges” and put itself up for sale in October 2025. The closures have led to 591 jobs being cut.
Other Revolution bars closing with immediate effect include Cardiff, Durham, Glasgow (Renfield Street), Huddersfield, Ipswich, Leeds (Electric Press), Leicester, Manchester (Oxford Road and Parsonage Gardens), Nottingham (Cornerhouse), Plymouth, Preston, and Sheffield.
Revolution Exeter was part of the chain’s post-pandemic expansion, aiming to revive nightlife in city centres with a mix of cocktails, music, and themed events.
