The Exeter West Lions Club, which has operated in the city for more than 50 years, is preparing for a series of festive charity collections and community events throughout December.
The group will begin its annual fundraising efforts with a collection at the Guildhall Shopping Centre on Thursday 4 December, running from 12pm to 8pm.
Volunteers will be joined by Father Christmas in a specially adapted sleigh built around a mobility scooter. Donations will support a number of local causes, including Young Lives vs Cancer.

Further collections are planned outside Morrisons on Prince Charles Road from 15 to 24 December, where members of the public will be able to contribute to funds that support a range of Exeter charities and community groups.
The Lions say their long-running annual collections form a key part of their work supporting organisations across the region.
Since being established, the club has raised more than £600,000 for charities including Children’s Hospice South West, HospiceCare, the RD&E Hospital, local homeless charities, and groups supporting people with dementia, cancer and multiple sclerosis.
Alongside their festive activities, the group has also confirmed plans for a Fun Casino Night on 28 February at the Hotel du Vin, featuring a charity auction and prize draw. Tickets will be priced at £25.
