Pupils at St Thomas Primary School in Exeter took part in Armistice Day commemorations on Monday, joining people across the city and the country in remembering those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.
The school marked the occasion with a moment of silence, led by staff and students, to reflect on the bravery and selflessness of the Armed Forces throughout history.
The ceremony formed part of the wider Remembrance Day events taking place across Exeter and the UK.

Taking pride in representing their units, several St Thomas pupils who serve in local cadet forces played a special role in the event, including: Chico Passaro (Army Cadets, Wyvern Base), Arthur Darling, Malakey Hacking and Apollo Gardner (Army Cadets, Crediton Base), Ezra Ewings (Marine Cadets, Lympstone Base) and Seth Long (Air Cadets, 13th Squadron, Exeter).
The students stood in formation during the service, demonstrating discipline and respect as the school community gathered to remember those who lost their lives in service.
The ceremony was accompanied by readings, handmade poppies, and artwork created by pupils, turning the school into a space of remembrance and gratitude.
St Thomas Primary’s commemoration is one of many held across Exeter, where schools, veterans, and residents have come together to ensure that the message of remembrance continues for generations to come.
